Rather than fit around the body, the head collar/head harness/head halter fits around the dog’s muzzle and head. This collar creates pressure to discourage negative behavior. It also provides more control over a dog’s direction by controlling head direction and movement, much like a horse’s bridle. If used correctly, without force, a head harness can be effective and safe for training.
